§ 70. General penalty.

  • That the violation of any such ordinance or ordinances which may be passed by the city council of the City of Shelby, under and by the authority granted by this Charter, shall be a misdemeanor, and punishable by a fine of not exceeding fifty dollars ($50.00), or imprisoned [sic] for a period of not exceeding thirty (30) days, and as such shall be punishable by any court of the state having jurisdiction.

Editor's note

The penalty for violation of a municipal ordinance can be up to $500.00 and 30 days imprisonment per G.S. 14-4.
