§ 8-32. Fees.

Latest version.
  • (a)

This Code is amended by revising all applicable provisions of this Code with a schedule of fees and charges which may, from time to time, be modified by the city council.

    (b)

The fee schedule shall be interpreted to generally provide for all fees and charges for permits issued by the city building and zoning department. In those instances where the new fee schedule may not, or does not, address a permit or service fee heretofore prescribed by this Code, such fee or charge required by the Code shall remain in effect and enforceable until such time as revised or modified by the city council. Further, the fee revisions set forth within this section are not intended to supplant any other fee or charge prescribed for utility connections, street or curb cuts, or any other similar services provided by the city. Therefore, this section is to be interpreted to modify and update only those fees associated with the issuance of building, zoning and code enforcement permits and approvals.

    (c)

It is further the intent of the city council that implementation of the fee schedule set forth in subsection (a) of this section be accomplished and accompanied by new application and permit issuance procedures. Accordingly, the city manager is authorized to cause the development of a simplified single application format for the issuance of permits. The manager is further authorized and instructed to develop any other measures necessary to achieve the intent of simplification and fostering operations which are user friendly, while at the same time assuring enforcement of the various codes for which the city is responsible.
